FASNZ Conference and AGM 2012 will be held in the sunshine capital and centre of New Zealand – Nelson, from 2nd to 5th May 2012. The main base for conference, where the Registrations, Exhibition, Trading Hall, Awards night, AGM and most of the workshops will be held, is the Rutherford Hotel and Conference Centre, pleasantly situated close to the Cathedral and historic South Street and just a few steps from the city centre shops.

A good range of motel accommodation is available within easy walking distance of the city centre and conference venue, with an impressive array of historic buildings to view along the way.

The evening floral entertainment will be held in the country's oldest wooden theatre, which has recently been extensively renovated.

Familiar and nationally acclaimed demonstrators Roseanne Armstrong of Nelson and Dorothy Turner, Hamilton will enthral all with skill and imagination in their Floral Art presentation, always a popular interlude on the Conference programme. We are currently working on the coup de grâce – a very special venue for the conference dinner.

Nelson has a great deal to offer visitors to the city. Within the city centre we have sassy shops and cruisey cafés, marvellous markets and the must-see museum, street art, master craftspeople and great galleries. It's all very compact and attractive. Further afield are wineries, potters, artists, glassworks and the wonderful World of Wearable Arts and Classic Cars museum.

Workshops will include an interesting range of topics tutored by some of our talented FASNZ members as well as allied art people from the Nelson area.

The stimulating conference programme offers something for everyone, with plenty of opportunity to take part and demonstrate your own creative talents, or to just relax and enjoy the floral art experience. FASNZ members from the Nelson/ Marlborough Area are delighted to host the 47th FASNZ Inc. Conference and AGM, and assure all registrants, of a warm welcome to Nelson in May, 2012.
