Taranaki Area Designer of the Year 2009

The FASNZ Inc. Taranaki Area Designer of the Year competition, “Floral Zest” held this year in Inglewood was a very successful and enjoyable event.

The attendance from the public was very pleasing with visitors lingering in the pleasant venue to inspect many times the wonderful display of designs entered in the four sections of the DOY competition.

Also a draw card was the cooking demonstration by Linda Richardson from Hamilton. As well as being a qualified floral art judge; having judged the entries previous to her demonstration, Linda is a qualified Chef who trained and worked in England before coming to New Zealand.
This entertaining and delightful lady regaled the audience with lots of information and good cooking tips as she cleverly created the following dishes;
* Stuffed Tomatoes and Mushrooms
* Chicken Molee and Couscous
* Berry Cheesecake

A floral design to accompany each of these dishes was prepared by a floral art member.

Finally a delicious cool citrus and lemonade drink was served to over 80 people who attended the demonstration.
