Christchurch Festival of Flowers 2008 - Canterbury Area

This year FASNZ Inc Canterbury Area agreed to undertake responsibility for organising the annual display of perimeter designs and the floral carpet in the Cathedral in the Square in Christchurch.

Jenny Harris, Margaret Huckstep and Shirley Russ organised the large perimeter designs while Jan Leaper designed the floral carpet. Floral art members from the various floral art groups in the Area along with students from the Christchurch Academy of Floral Art were involved in setting up this outstanding display.

These arrays of floral designs are always widely admired by the many visitors to the Cathedral during festival week.

The main theme for the Christchurch Festival of Flowers was “Head, Hand and Heart” while the theme inside the Cathedral is ‘Morning has Broken”
