Papakura Floral Art

Members of the Papakura Floral Art Club, were invited to present an exhibition of floral designs depicting the theme "Recycled" to complement the recycled materials in the paintings of exhibiting artist from Brazil, Mauricio Benega which were on display at the same time.

The exhibitions were held in the Papakura Art Gallery, where the floral art members used recycled treasures to stage their designs. The floral art exhibition ran for four weeks, which was a challenging commitment, but careful maintenance of designs over this period ensured a top class presentation.

A very informative brochure was handed out to the public and along with floral art demonstrations at the Art Gallery and at a local Arcade, the whole event earned excellent publicity. Members felt the effort they had made had been worthwhile and an enjoyable experience, as well as courting interest in floral art from prospective members.

Several of the designs were re-located to the Lady Elizabeth Rest home, where residents and visitors enjoyed them for a further week, thus concluding a very successful community enterprise from a small floral art club.
