A Russian Connection

Floral Groups throughout New Zealand readily support their communities with floral designs for special occasions. In mid winter the local Floral Art Group in the small South Canterbury town of Waimate was invited to decorate the sparse sports stadium in their town for a special Gala Dinner and social evening. The designs featuring a selection of foliages were fresh and restful and received many compliments.

The Russian company Nutritek who is a shareholder in the recently opened New Zealand Dairies Company at Studholme hosted the community function. As well as organising the wonderful dinner with their own chef in charge they brought a dance company, the Gostya Folklore Group from Vologda an agricultural and dairy producing area in Russia to entertain. This group is in great demand throughout Russia and little wonder as the standard of their presentation was superb.
