FOCUS ON TAKAPUNA - From Sandwiches to Witches

"STACKING SANDWICHES" A workshop held by Clement Lee for the Takapuna Floral Art Club resulted in many beautiful "Layer Cakes".

Materials used for these designs included: blocks of white oasis, and fibre covered squares of cottonwool or dacron. Decorative wire was used to sew the fibre together and skewers were used at each corner to secure alternate layers of oasis and padded squares to form the stack.

Designs were completed with the placement of small flowers, leaves and berries in to the sides of the white oasis. Vine was used to create space and rhythm. To create unity decorative beads to complement the plant material were added to the top of the designs.

These designs look good enough to eat, don't you think?

Grateful thanks to Fay Craill who contributed these photos and many others in the last three years ensuring the Takapuna Club has been well profiled on line.
