Traditional Designs
A style of design originating in the post-war era and still in use today.
They are based on geometric forms. Traditional designs can be Line (e.g. vertical, horizontal, crescent, Hogarth, diagonal), Line-Mass or Mass. The images shown here staged by FASNZ designers show all the characteristics of Traditional Designs by providing a well-defined centre of interest, transitional plant material and having all lines radiating from the central point. Additionally there is gradation of size, form and colour with little space within the design. Click on the image to reveal the specific Traditional Design identified.
