IT'S THE 4TH OF JULY!.....America's Independence Day. Howick Floral Art Club's annual Mid-Winter Christmas event fell close enough on the calendar to the 4th of July that it inspired them to have a change in theme from Christmas to 'Americana'. Visiting demonstrators Pauline Luxton and Marguerita McBeath covered many of the USA's iconic symbols with their intriguing designs. Well known American holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving, historical events and structures like 'the Boston Tea Party' and the Empire State Building, typical food like hamburger and popcorn, and yes, even the current & controversial proposed 'Wall' were represented. Together with a splendid lunch the day was truly enjoyed by all.
